Package of 100 Flechettes.

 

These hardened steel flechettes were used in the Vietnam-era m546 APERS-1 105mm artillery shell, known to vietnam vets as "The Behive" due to the sound they made traveling in the air downrange.  This devastating round was designed after the Korean War as a way to stop the human wave assault tactics used by the enemy.

At a distance of 75 meters the Beehive shell detonates and sends 8,000+ of these little steel darts toward the enemy.
 
Each of  these are made of steel and is roughly an inch and a bit long and weighs 8 grains.  They are new old stock, unraveled recently, and stored in a climate controlled facility.
